Developed and published by none other than King, Candy Crush Jelly Saga has all the candy-crushing action that you love from the previous titles, but this time around, the challenge if ramped up even further with the introduction of… wait for it… jellies! Apparently, the Jelly Queen and the nefarious Cupcake Carl are teaming up to horde all the jelly for themselves, and this just wouldn’t do!

Your goal in this game is to spread the jelly so that the entire board is covered, and you have limited moves to do so. Of course, as you play, the game adds in new obstacles to challenge you including locked candies. In return, you also get special candies when you match more than 3 candies together to, hopefully, overcome these obstacles and make completing a level easier. There are fan-favorite boosters like the Lollipop Hammer and the Color Bomb Hammer that you can buy using Gold Bars and use as well.

Interestingly, certain levels offer a turn-based duel mode where you’ll battle against the Jelly Queen or Cupcake Carl. Naturally, you’ll need to cover the board with jelly while your opponent will do their darnest to remove jellies with their every move. This tug-of-war-like gameplay really makes Candy Crush Jelly Saga so much more exciting to play.

So, to sum up, Candy Crush Jelly Saga is definitely a step-up from the last game in the series! The duel mode is exciting and fun to play, the gameplay change involving jelly, and it’s always great to be able to experience a brand-new storyline that’s set in the Candy Kingdom.
